This industry comprises establishments primarily engaged in manufacturing wood products (except establishments operating sawmills and wood preservation facilities; and establishments manufacturing veneer, plywood, engineered wood products, millwork, wood containers, or pallets). The All Other Wood Product Manufacturing Industry produces wood products such as mobile homes and non-residential mobile buildings, prefabricated wood buildings plus sections and panels for prefabricated wood buildings, and other miscellaneous wood products including wooden ladders, dowels, handles, toilet seats, kitchenware, toothpicks, canes, tobacco pipes, shoe heels, etc, which are not classified in any other US industry.
The raw materials required to manufacture such products (i.e. mostly wood) are purchased from sawmills/planing mills, veneer, plywood and engineered wood product manufacturers as well as millwork enterprises. Other purchases are required to complete fabricated wood buildings and manufactured homes, such as kitchen and bathroom materials, carpets etc, but these are not reprocessed by the All Other Wood Product Manufacturing Industry. The products made by this industry are sold to wholesalers, retailers or export markets.
